UserName@DNS_DomainName, and then try again. (FWM 00006) Error

Hi All,

  We are using BusinesObjects XI 3.1.

  We have been setup to use the DEFAULT domain and 2 additional (sub)domains.

  The DEFAULT domain users are able to connect and work fine without issues But when a user from a (sub)domain tries to login, he/she gets and error as

• Account Information Not Recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again. If you are not a member of the default domain, enter your user name as UserName@DNS_DomainName, and then try again. (FWM 00006)

  Any idea what is wrong. The syntax suggested in the error message for the users not from a DEFAULT domain does not make sense i.e. UserName@DNS_DomainName?

    QUESTION 1: So if the DEFAULT domain is somecompany.com and the subdomain is called subdomain.somecompany.com, what would be the correct syntax to login as a user from that subdomain?
